Prison Volunteer
We are seeking new volunteers for the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB), who operate inside every prison and detention centre. IMB are the eyes and ears of the public, appointed by Ministers to perform a vital task: Independent Monitoring of prisons . Our volunteers report on whether the individuals held are being treated fairly and humanely and whether prisoners are given the support they need to turn their life around. An interesting and challenging role.

Visit 2 - 3 times per month and attend Board meetings.

What will you be doing?
Board members will need to be available to visit 2 - 3 times per month and attend Board meetings. Flexibility will be considered where possible to accommodate work and care commitments. You will learn new skills, increase your confidence and make a difference to peoples lives. A challenging and enjoyable role.
What skills are required?
You need to be open minded, have good communication, get on well with people, be organised and approachable.
