Conservation and Collections Volunteer
Conservation and collections Volunteers will provide a helpful and friendly service that will contribute to the smooth running of the museum events and activities. Helping to plan,
develop and implement activities and events. Source sponsors and materials for a range of
activities, and assist on the day by guiding participants and providing a warm welcome for
our visitors. You will be on hand to answer any immediate questions, help them to orientate themselves and generally provide the information they need to ensure they have a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable visit.

What will you be doing?
Providing a warm, friendly welcome (and goodbye) to all visitors as the public face of
Sharpe's Pottery Heritage and Arts Trust as a charity
Exploring, archiving and caring for the museum's collections
Changing and interpreting displays
Promoting events and guided tours
Identifying and researching new or existing collections
Helping store objects and care for them
Engaging with a diverse range of audiences
Deal with any queries that may arise from visitors and pass to colleagues
Encourage donations and explain how the money raised will be used
Become familiar with and then follow the necessary health and safety policies and
procedures at all times
Giving any other appropriate assistance as may be reasonably requested
